OBSOLETE Intro to Surfskating

Skateboarding Beginner, Intermediate Adults (over 18 years old)
Concrete Waves London
Description

Come and try surfskating at our weekly intro session! Surfskating is a form of skateboarding that feels more like surfing or snowboarding, with lovely flowing turns. It's easy to learn - most people are making nice turns in 15 or 20 minutes. This is our most popular weekly session, where our existing members come to skate together and socialise, and where we welcome new joiners to our community. We bring spare boards and protective gear so that new joiners can get started without needing to buy anything first, as we find it's best to try different boards and get a feel for what's right for you before thinking about buying. We start this session with a mini beginner lesson for new joiners, led by our Coach Pete. And then we all skate together, with some fun activities, and some progression coaching. After the session, we often stop and chill, either where we were skating, or at a nearby pub. This session is free, but we also welcome voluntary contributions - we are currently fundraising to get more boards and protective gear to cope with increasing numbers of new joiners over the summer, and to buy ramps to enhance our sessions.
