In a few words :

Concrete Waves is London's Surfskating Community. We run a weekly intro session every Sunday afternoon, in a different part of London each week, to welcome new joiners to our sport. We also run coached sessions with different themes, and offer private lessons. And we meet up and skate together across London throughout the week :-) Links: https://concretewaveslondon.com/ https://www.instagram.com/concretewaveslondon/

    Surfskating Beginner/Improver Lesson

I signed up to a number of weekends over the summer in order to improve my technique on a surfboard. The coaches are friendly, super skillful and take you through drills and manoeuvres in the most detailed way. I really feel like I’ve progressed quick in only a couple of weeks - and I can’t wait too see how this translates to the waves!

Had so much fun - from being terrified to get on the board to skating (kind of!) by the end of the session. Our beginners’ coach was great, he broke everything down into understandable, tangible steps and was supportive throughout. Have already booked my next session.

I had such a great experience at the Decathlon surfskate lesson! The instructor explained everything really clearly, from the basics of stance and balance to more advanced techniques. I felt supported the whole time and picked up skills much faster than I expected. The session was both fun and confidence-building, and I left with lots of practical tips I can keep practicing on my own. Highly recommend this class to anyone curious about surfskating, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your style.

I appreciate the effort put into running the session, but I felt a bit overlooked during this class. I noticed that the attention and guidance weren’t shared very evenly among attendees. I was only indicated briefly when I actively asked, and even then it felt a little rushed rather than a real opportunity to learn. Overall, the session felt more like just renting the space and equipment rather than receiving actual coaching, and I didn’t feel I made any real progress.
