Living in a faced paced modern society often we can feel overwhelmed from a stream of unwanted thoughts such as anxiety, stress, self doubt, often leaving us feeling mentally fatigued. The mental turbulence that wakes us in the middle of the night, that prevents us from fully enjoying our lives seems to be necessarily a part of our experince and more often than not can leave us feeling emotionally burnt out and lonely. Secular mindfulness and meditation can be an effective tool in helping to break the cycle of anxiety, mental fatigue and the sense of helplessness we seem too be vulnerable to. Through understanding the nature of the mind and how it directly influences our daily personal experiences it is possible to begin to control those unwanted thoughts and emotions and develop a more relaxed and open heart. Decathlon, together with Paul, are offering an hour and a quarter of guided mindfulness and meditation classes to gently calm the mind and help restore emotional balance. The in person classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who are familiar with meditation. Each class includes; - An opening guided meditation. - Talk in regards to a particular aspect of mindfulness and meditation. - Reflective Q&A session. - Closing guided meditation. About the facilitator Paul teaches buddhist meditation, psychology and philosophy in a lighthearted, methodical and structured manner with the emphasis of developing and integrating wisdom and compassion in ones daily life. Classically trained in the Tibetan Buddhist Gelugpa tradition, the lineage of the 14th Dalai Lama. Paul graduated from Nalanda Monastry in the summer of 2022 having completed the five year residential programme, concluding ten years of study and retreats.
