Description

Join Cycle Sisters for a women-only group cycle skills session in Jubilee Park. All participants must either live, work or study in Waltham Forest. Bikes will be available to borrow for sessions. The group sessions are suitable for: -Complete beginners who are unable to balance or pedal -New or less confident cyclists who would like to improve bike-handling skills such as braking, control skills, using gears and signalling The session will take place entirely in a traffic-free environment in the park. All participants and instructors will be female. Please bring with you: -Helmet if you wish to wear one -Water and snacks -Clothing suitable for the weather (sessions will go ahead even if it is raining apart from in extreme conditions) We’d recommend you reading our guide to cycling in Islamic/modest clothing to help you decide what to wear: https://www.cyclesisters.org.uk/post/cycling-in-islamic-clothing The lessons are held at Leyton Jubilee Park, E10 7BL. The container where we meet is next to the Pavilion (close to the Seymour Rd entrance to the park and the opposite side to the park from Kukoolala Cafe and Marsh Lane). There is limited parking at Jubilee Park next to Kukoolala Cafe, accessed from Marsh Lane. You can’t enter the car park until 9.15am (due to local school streets - you may incur a fine if you do) and the parking limit is 3 hours (which should be sufficient for our rides but it’s not an absolute guarantee!).
