πΎπ₯π΄π½SENIOR MORNING PASSπ΅πΏπ΄π½π₯πΎ
Great proximity above the main store via lift or escalators with fabulous transport links. The 3 courts are in a good space and were recently revamped. I believe the air con is active. The boundary is screened with a full height clear perspex reducing ball losses. There are 2 adjoining courts which are only separated with half height screens, this allows balls to escape. Subsequently, when both courts are in use some game interruptions possible.
Playing equipment is provided. There's free parking, a water fountain, toilets and a changing cubicle (I haven't seen any showers yet).
This is a fantastic activity (runs on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings but not in the school summer hols) and is bringing active people 60+ together.
I find it fairly easy to book online, looking up Decathlon activities - Canada Water. I believe there's only 12 places max. Mindful when 9-11 people attend there will either be a wait for the doubles games to turn around or consider having a turn playing an odd/singles game.
I noticed on 2 courts the floor surface still has a few issues to be wary of - bubbling has occurred which regularly affects the bounce of the ball.
There's a convenient Italian influenced cafe on the same level - makes socialising easy too. Offer a coffee & a croissant for Β£5 and collect 6 stamps on a card for a free coffee. It has an industrial look, some huge wooden tables and large windows with slight side views of the water.
I enjoy playing beach bat and ball, table tennis and tennis - this was a no brainer, love it!
Welcome more group sessions and for a wider age group please.
